Why the First Week of School Matters-Celebrating Faith, Learning, and Belonging

Before students arrived, our faculty and staff spent a week preparing. Teachers renewed CPR certifications, new staff attended orientation, and classrooms were made ready. This behind-the-scenes work helps ensure that every child enters a safe, caring, and faith-based environment where they can grow both academically and spiritually.

The week continued with our Welcome Back to School Social. Families met teachers, signed up for sports, and brought in supplies. Students explored their classrooms with excitement, while parents connected with teachers and other families. It was a reminder that our school community is built on relationships as much as academics.

On the first day of school, students experienced a favorite tradition: the Red Carpet Walk. Teachers and staff lined the walkway, welcoming each child with cheers, high fives, and hugs. It was a simple but meaningful way to remind students that they belong here and are valued.

We ended the week with our first chapel service. Voices were lifted in worship, and the school year was centered on Christ from the very beginning. Moments like staff training, the red carpet walk, and chapel are more than traditions. They set a foundation of safety, belonging, and faith that carry our students into the year ahead with confidence and joy.
