MLK Holiday Observance – No School Monday, 01/16

MLK Holiday Observance – No School Monday, 01/16

Happy New Year to all our SHA families. With new years comes new beginnings and fortunately for some a time to reflect and carry on those ideals worth sustaining.

Someone once said, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was that someone. He wanted people to see that they could make a difference and still be a peaceful human being. We at SHA look to empower our students to reach for the stars and recognize the power they have to change the world for the better one day at a time.

As we remember MLK’s contributions to the American civil rights movement, know that his legacy plays an important part of most US school curriculums, and his “I Have a Dream” speech is a staple piece of writing that is studied in most history and English classes, including here at SHA.

Please note – There will be no school at SHA on Monday, January 16th. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 17th with an “A day” schedule.

We here at South Hills Academy wish all of our SHA Eagles and their families a peaceful MLK day.
