Meet Ms. Lisa, South Hills Academy’s preschool teacher. Ms. Lisa shares the Growing Tree Room with Ms. Karina and co-teaches the 4-year-olds. This year, with these amazing teachers’ help, the students are focusing on phonics, math skills, and writing.
Ms. Lisa enjoys getting to know all the children and watching them grow and learn each day. Aside from teaching, she loves to spend time with her 3 children. They like to do outdoor activities and go to the movies together. Read on to know more about Ms. Lisa.
What is your educational background?
My educational background is in Child Education and Child Development.
Why do you want to teach?
I have lots of patience with children. I want to make a difference in a child’s life.
Describe your teaching experience.
The job of a teacher is extremely rewarding. It gives me the opportunity to become part of the children’s lives and help them achieve their goals. Before I came to South Hills Academy, I worked at the Boys and Girls Club for over 6 years. It was there that I decided I wanted to work with young children.
What is your teaching philosophy?
A teacher’s role is to act as a guide for the students.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to listen to religious music and go horseback riding.
