Team sports help teach students responsibility, collaboration, leadership and other skills. Many students who participate in sports do better academically because athletics highlights who they are and allows them to demonstrate their strengths in different environments. Sports improves mood and can reduce pressure and stress. At South Hills Academy, we believe that sports boost self-esteem both in and out of the classroom. We believe that as students fight for a common goal with a group of players they learn the skills to overcome any barrier.
For 60 years, SHA has built a strong athletics program with many championships in basketballs, soccer, football, and volleyball. We are taking our history of exemplary sports and are now building a high school sport program. As we continue to grow, our academics and athletic program will work hand in hand to help nurture and support all students.
